Comic Relief charity challenge contestant and ex-Waterloo Road veteran Chelsee Healey called on Manchester celebrity hairdresser Nicky Oliver to give her hair a make-over following her Zambezi adventure with five other celebrities.

The Salford born actress, one of six top TV faces including Mel C, Dara O’Briain and Jack Dee,  who travelled 68 miles by paddle boat along the legendary African river to raise funds for Comic Relief, felt her hair desperately deserved a new look.

Nicky immediately suggested hair extensions from Wonderful Hair, the only extensions that can be bonded using ultra sound without the need for heat and hot glue, and then introduced her to stylist Laurel Warmington at his Oldham Street salon.

“This will give her hair the fullness, life and added body it needs,” explained Nicky. “It will put back the volume Chelsee wants.”

Although best known for her years as Janeece Bryant in Waterloo Road, Chelsee has had guest appearances in a string of TV programmes including Doctors and Hollyoaks. She was an instant hit in the 9th series of Strictly Come Dancing, in which she and partner Pasha Kovalev scored a perfect 40 out of 40 for their Paso Doble and ended the series as runners-up.

Although her Waterloo Road
career is now behind her, Chelsee is still very busy. She said she had thoroughly enjoyed her African adventure but still misses Strictly.
“I absolutely adored my time in “Strictly”, said 24 years old Chelsee, who lives in Eccles. “The music, the dancing, the costumes and the support of the audiences made it so special.”
What about her new hair? “I absolutely love it!” she said.
